Venture to raise $8m for Tasmania magnetite/tin project

Venture has recently received favourable results from a scoping study and said that it planned to complete a drilling campaign over the coming months focussed on expanding the Mount Lindsay resource base and extending the potential mine life of the project. Should Venture be successful in defining additional resource tons it would look at starting a full feasibility study as soon as possible. To raise the funds Venture has agreed to place a total of 40-million fully paid ordinary shares at 20c a share to institutional in sophisticated investors. The placement would be done in two tranches the first of which would see 15-million shares placed to raise $3-million.

Ms Singh was at the headquarters of Royal Guide Dogs Tasmania to launch a new advertising campaign supported by State Government funding of more than $85000 to promote the need for people to care for their eyes. ?Most of us take our eyes and good vision for granted? Ms Singh said. ?And many people in the community are unaware that they have medical conditions that can lead to serious eyesight problems and even blindness. ?That?s what this public awareness campaign is all about.

The girls and boys sides have been engaged in a pre-nationals camp at Darwin Basketball Stadium this week and depart tonight for Ulverstone. BNT coaching boss Timmy Duggan said David Carroll has been the big improver in the under-16 boys group. "In the girls Justine Schmidt and Tamara Sheppard will be looked upon to provide the on-court leadership" Duggan said. The championships start on Saturday at the Ulverstone Sports and Leisure Centre on the north-west coast of the Apple Isle. And it is hoped the Territorians have packed their jumpers as well as their jump shots as the maximum temperature in the town of 10000 yesterday was 12C.

” “The operation of the accord will help to improve patron safety through the promotion of Responsible Service of Alcohol and improving and maintaining the standards of behaviour in and around licensed premises. “Launceston hoteliers nightclubs owners club managers and all licensees are to be congratulated on their initiative and commitment to the development of an accord which seeks to change for the better the way the community uses and thinks about alcohol. ” The Launceston Accord is an initiative of liquor licensees in the greater Launceston area the Launceston City Council Tasmania Police Australian Hotels Association the Liquor and Gaming Branch of the Department of Treasury and Finance and the Launceston business community including the Launceston Chamber of Commerce and Cityprom. A liquor accord is an agreement to build constructive working relationships between licensees government and the community to take certain actions in local communities which aim to improve safety in urban and entertainment areas and reduce alcohol related anti-social behaviour offences and violence.
