Melbourne Herald Sun Australia
article-tools –> Rebecca Williams December 23 2008 12:00am THE long-running debate over which is the fastest route to Hobart will be settled in this year’s Melbourne-to-Hobart yacht race starting on Saturday. For the first time the Melbourne-to-Hobart will feature simultaneous races down the west and east coasts of Tasmania. The traditional Westcoaster was switched to the east coast of Tasmania last year to celebrate the 100th sailing of the Rudder Cup Melbourne-to-Launceston race. Such was the positive response the cean Racing Club of Victoria will offer an east coast course again this year. Entrants can decide which route to tackle with separate races being held. RCV Commodore George Shaw said he was eager to find out which route was fastest.
