“Why should we accept someone who’s pushing not just adopting but pushing racist policies towards Aboriginal people” Mr Mansell said. “No-one else in the Northern Territory gets their welfare payments quarantined or stolen so why should we allow a Minister who we really had high hopes for because I like Jenny Macklin as a person but as a Minister for Aboriginal Affairs she is a damn disaster. “The message we’re sending to Jenny Macklin is stay on the mainland” he said. “Don’t come down to Tasmania we don’t want you because we don’t want your policies that’ll affect the lives of Aboriginal people in this state” Mr Mansell added.
